Another Scandal about Memorial Day

Once again, the National Committee which deals with Memorial and Liberation Days, 4 and 5 May respectively in the Netherlands, has given preference to the German attitude after the war over the wishes of the families of the victims of the German SS’s murderers.

The committee, together with the municipality of the town of Breda refuses to include the names of the 22 victims of the Dutch-German war criminal and murderer Klaas Carel Faber in the list of memorial ceremonies. German President Joachim Gauck will visit Breda on National Liberation Day on May 5th.

A protest committee has been organized which opposes the visit of Gauck unless he brings Faber, who has received a life sentence in the Netherlands but escaped from jail, with him
